Joel Peck, LPC
Joel Peck, LPC has been working with clients with a variety of mental health needs, diagnoses, and substance use disorders for over five years. He started his counseling studies while attending Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, where he earned his Masters of Divinity, and completed his Masters of Education in mental health, and family therapy, from Cambridge College in 2019.
Joel is experienced in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family systems therapy, and family interventions. He has developed competencies working with those who have co-occurring substance use, and mental health, using motivational interviewing, CBT, and psycho-educational approaches to help clients understand their mental health, and/or substance use, to then develop treatment plans specific to triggers. Joel is also experienced in anger management treatment, using mindfulness and situational awareness to reduce symptoms.
A core belief Joel has in the therapeutic process is to offer not only culturally sensitive counseling, but spiritually sensitive counseling as well. Joel’s main belief is that a holistic approach must include a person’s whole experience, and helping them identify where they find meaning, acceptance, and support.
